Family members of prisoners stage protest

KURNOOL: Children along with family members of prisoners staged a demonstration at Collectorate here on Thursday urging the Government to set free all long-standing prisoners.

The children said they were longing for reunion with their parents but unwanted controversy was depriving freedom to their parents.

Yashashwini, daughter of Cherukucharla Raghuramaiah, said her family underwent deep trauma after the family head was jailed six years ago. "I do not know much about the crime committed by my father but I am deprived of him," she lamented.

Another girl Rehna said her father Sidhiq Hussain had been in jail for five years. His release was stopped in the last minute, she said. A dozen children took part in the protest.
