Jail for former official

Rajahmundry: Former regional joint director of municipal administration Chapala Vijayakumar was convicted on Thursday for harassment of a woman employee during his tenure.

Assistant principal sessions judge Vishnuprasada Reddy on Thursday sentenced the former official to undergo five years imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs. 5,000. According to the prosecution, a case was registered against Vijayakumar on August 7, 2004.
