Correspondent

Campaign to cover all three regions

Kakinada: The Samaikyandhra Samrakshana Samithi has planned to launch `padayatra' in all the three regions of the State from February 1 highlighting the need for integrated State, according to Naraharisetti Srihari, its convenor and member of executive council of Acharya Nagarjuna University.

At a press conference here on Thursday, he said the `padayatra' would commence from the Rayalaseema region and enter Bhadrachalam on March 1 after covering several towns and villages. Later, it would cover north coastal Andhra and coastal Andhra. The `yatra' would be completed by April-end.

He said the samithi had already constituted committees for four districts. For East Godavari district, Pydah Venkata Narayana and Dake Balakrishnam Raju, Congress leaders were appointed district convenor and joint convenor respectively.

Expressing anguish over threat to the integrity of the State, Mr. Srihari recalled the efforts of leaders like Madapati Hanumantha Rao, Ravi Narayana Reddy, Burgula Ramakrishna Rao and Potti Sriramulu for achievement and progress of the State.
