ADILABAD: C. Ramchander Reddy, Adilabad MLA, on Thursday assured the general body meeting of Adilabad Municipal Council that pattas issued by the Revenue Department without obtaining the necessary clearance from the municipality would be cancelled. He was responding to an allegation made by Telugu Desam Party councillors that a land given on lease by the municipality had been recently regularised under the Revenue Department's programme. The councillors questioned the powers of the Mandal Revenue Officer in regularising the municipal lands. Chairman Digambar Rao Patil denied that any clearance was given by the municipality. The councillors also demanded shifting of the site for construction of public toilets by Sulbh International to the original place earmarked for that purpose.
