Staff Correspondent

MANGALORE: A man and a woman were found dead at Ambika Nagar near here on Thursday. The two victims, who have not been identified, were reportedly found hanging from a tree at a desolate spot behind a bus station. The man, said to have been in his mid-20s, was hanging with a bath towel, while the woman, said to have been in her mid-30s, was hanging with her saree, according to police.

The reasons for their hanging are not known. Police said they found a mangalsutra and a toe-ring on the deceased woman. Both had threads, similar to "rakhis", tied around their wrists. It is not known if the two were lovers or married.
