NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi Standing Committee on Thursday passed a resolution asking the Delhi Government's Forest Department to immediately clear pending applications relating to the cutting of trees and formulate a plan so that applications received are cleared within a month in future. Raising the issue at the meeting, Leader of House Jitender Kochar said some files were pending with the Forest Department for more than a year. He said projects and development works suffer as files remain pending. Similarly, senior Bharatiya Janata Party Councillor Vijender Gupta said even individuals have to visit Forest officials several times to get their files cleared, causing unnecessary problems. He also demanded that such procedures should be completed in a time-bound manner. On this, Standing Committee Chairman J. K. Sharma asked Municipal Commissioner A. K. Nigam to take up the matter with the Delhi Government and resolve the issue.
