TUMKUR: Minister for Forests and Tumkur District incharge C. Channigappa, Minister for Sericulture S. Shivanna, former Ministers G. Parameshwar, D. Nagarajaiah, and B.Satyanarayana promised many development projects for Tumkur district on the occasion of the 58th Republic Day Celebration on Friday. Mr. Channigappa hoisted the national flag at Mahatma Gandhi Stadium in Tumkur and said the Government was committed to declare the Mydanahalli Black Buck Sanctuary in the district as State Reserve Forest. He said the Government would spend Rs. 24 crore in the next five months to solve the drinking water problem. Development works worth Rs.6 crore would be taken up in Pavagada taluk to combat naxalite menace there.
