2 woman naxals held?

KURNOOL: The police reportedly took into custody two woman extremists at Vadlaramapuram on Friday, according to information. The special police party, which learnt about the camping of two women extremists raided a house and picked them up. The women hailed from Sundipenta and Dornala respectively. - Special Correspondent

Two held, chloral hydrate seized

KARIMNAGAR: The enforcement wing personnel of Prohibition and Excise Department arrested two persons and seized six quintals of chloral hydrate worth Rs. 1 lakh and a van, which was illegally transporting the contraband from Nizamabad to Karimnagar on Thursday night.

Student killed

KADAPA: A private school student S. Sattar (12) was crushed to death by an RTC bus on Market Street in Badvel town on Friday. Sattar and two other boys were going home on a bicycle after picking up lotus flowers from a tank, when the cycle hit the bus from behind.

The rear tyres of the bus went over Sattar's head causing his instant death. Bus driver Chennaiah appeared before Badvel urban police, who registered a case. - Staff Reporter

KURNOOL: Revenue Inspector Seelappa was trapped by ACB officials at Kodumur on Thursday. According to reports, Seelappa allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 1,000 for issuing pattedar passbooks to a farmer. - Special Correspondent

Procession

ANANTAPUR: Students of different schools and colleges took out a procession in Gooty in the district on Thursday demanding revival of the APSRTC bus depot there which was closed down on December 31 last on the pretext of loss-making. The rally was taken out from Gates Engineering College to MRO's office with slogans in support of revival of the depot. - Staff Reporter
