BELLARY: The Government will soon introduce a law holding organisers of rallies responsible for any violent acts during the rallies, Home Minister M.P. Prakash has said. He told presspersons here on Friday that such a law was necessary to prevent the recurrence of violent incidents in the State. Precautionary measures would be taken, besides tightening security and initiating stern action against those provoking communal violence in the State, he said. Terming the recent violence in Bangalore unfortunate, Mr. Prakash said that such incidents would not have occurred without provocation. He commended the police for acting swiftly to bring the situation under control. The Minister said that efforts were on to reinforce the Police Department. Around 4,300 police constables had been appointed. The recruitment of sub-inspectors was on. An India Reserve Battalion would be established near Munirabad in Koppal district with the financial assistance from the Union Government, and the recruitment process would begin soon, he said.
