CHENNAI: The operating profit of City Union Bank was Rs. 27 crore (Rs. 26.10 crore) and the net profit Rs. 13.86 crore (Rs. 12.43 crore) during the third quarter ended December 31, 2006. Total income rose by 20 per cent to Rs. 111.69 crore from Rs. 92.93 crore. Interest income improved to Rs. 99.40 crore from Rs. 81.92 crore, a rise of 22 per cent, says a release. Total business as on December 31, 2006, was higher by 22 per cent at Rs. 6,952 crore comprising Rs. 4,076 crore in deposits (up 23 per cent) and Rs. 2,876 crore in advances (up 20 p.c.) against Rs. 3,324 crore of deposits and Rs. 2,391 crore of advances in the year ago period.
