Bus catches fire, children safe

New Delhi: Twenty-eight school students had a providential escape when the bus in which they were travelling went up in flames in South Delhi on Saturday.

The CNG-run bus, which was taking the children back from school, caught fire near the Chirag Dilli flyover in Hauz Khaz area at around 2:30 p.m. due to a suspected leak in the gas cylinder, police said.

All the children of the Delhi Kannada School in Lodhi Estate were rescued before the fire spread. The driver of the bus, however, suffered minor burns. — PTI
