Krishna Iyer releases book on education

KOCHI: Former Supreme Court judge V.R. Krishna Iyer has called for a campaign against commercialisation of education. He was releasing a book on education, written by Kerala Minister for Education M.A. Baby, here on Saturday.

Mr. Iyer said it had become difficult for ordinary people to pursue higher education. The reforms introduced by the Left Democratic Front Government were meant to help the people. Any move to commercialise education should be opposed, he added.

He said the Government had begun the process of consulting representatives of managements of educational institutions on the reforms in higher education.
