TAMBARAM: A 20-year-old daily wage earner was electrocuted inside the Chennai Trade Centre premises in Nandambakkam on Thursday. Nandambakkam police said J. Gnanamuthu, son of daily wage earners belonging to V.O.C. Nagar in Alandur, was employed by a caterer to wash vessels.

The catering company was preparing food for a large number of people that had come to attend a conference there.

The victim came into contact with live electric wires while washing huge vessels. Gnanamuthu was rushed to a private hospital nearby, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body was shifted to Chromepet Government Hospital for post-mortem.
