HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy was given a clean bill of health by cardiologists in the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) after undergoing a test for blood circulation in his heart on Saturday. He was discharged from the hospital before 2 p.m. after the doctors conducted various health check-ups. Most important of these was the "stress thallium" test whose results showed that his heart condition was normal. NIMS Director D. Prasada Rao later said the Chief Minister was found "hale and hearty". Now that his health condition was found to be normal, there was no need for Dr. Reddy to undergo further investigations, he added. The test was conducted by a team of doctors led by the head of department, cardiology. As part of it, the Chief Minister was made to run on the tread-mill before and after injection of a fluid. The Chief Minister was discharged immediately after the test and was back home by 2 p.m.. A press note issued by his office later described the test as "routine health check-up. Dr. Reddy will resume his regular schedule on Sunday.
