Thiruvananthapuram
Special Correspondent
Thiruvananthapuram : Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Ramesh Chennithala and Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy who are expected to be in Delhi for two days, will present a panel of names each for appointment as District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents in 12 districts. Only one name each has been recommended for Kannur and Palakkad. The two leaders are in Delhi as special invitees to attend the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi's satyagraha in South Africa. The revamp discussions that were held in Thiruvananthapuram the other day in the presence of Congress Working Committee (CWC) member in charge of Kerala affairs Veerappa Moily would be resumed. The two State leaders are expected to meet Defence Minister A.K. Antony and brief him on the discussions.
LDF flayed
Our Reporter writes from Kottayam: Mr. Chennithala has alleged that the LDF Government had failed to effectively control the efforts of the RSS and the NDF to foment communal strife in the State. Speaking to presspersons after his visit to the strife-torn areas including Tirur and Balaramapuram, Mr. Chennithala said the common people in these places were for peace and communal harmony.
