AIADMK MLAs evicted from House

Karunanidhi's resignation sought

CHENNAI: All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam members were evicted en masse from the Assembly on Saturday as they "continued to disrupt" proceedings ignoring Speaker R.Avudaiappan's appeal.

Slogan shouting

As soon as proceedings began, the AIADMK MLAs started shouting slogans demanding the resignation of Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi owning moral responsibility for the violence during the Corporation elections in Chennai in October last and moved towards Speaker's podium.

Sparks protests

A few AIADMK members made some remarks about the Chief Minister, which sparked loud protests from the ruling party MLAs.

Speaker's appeal

The Speaker appealed to the Opposition MLAs to resume their seats and reminded them that by their action they were failing in performing their duties to the people.

As the AIADMK MLAs continued to shout slogans, the Speaker directed the marshal to evict them.
