CHENNAI: Chennai Police Commissioner Letika Saran asked students not to give their name and other personal details or make their photograph available on the Internet as it was a dangerous medium. With access to the Internet having become easier by the day, students needed to be very careful while entering chat rooms. "Never agree to meet anyone in person and be careful when you upload photographs. Don't post pictures that might reveal details of where you stay or number plates of vehicles in your area." She was addressing over thousand students through VSAT facility. Organised on Thursday by Everonn Systems India in commemoration of Republic Day, Ms. Saran spoke on creating awareness among children. Seated at the studio at the company's Chennai office, she was speaking to students from different parts of Tamil Nadu. She asked students to be careful when strangers came to school saying they were wanted at home immediately, citing an `emergency' as reason. Everonn has been involved in setting up computer labs in schools and providing supplementary content for school and college students. For further details, visit www.everonn.com.
