RTA giving temporary permits to run bus services

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Regional Transport Authority, Hyderabad, in the wake of indefinite auto bandh called by autorickshaw unions is issuing temporary route permits to school and private tourist buses to operate as city buses from Sunday.

The decision was taken to mitigate the hardships of commuters. Nearly 75 buses, including 50 school buses were already permitted to conduct operations and RTA is proposing to issue more such route permits, said Joint Transport Commissioner B. Venkateswarlu.

"Interested school managements can obtain the temporary route permits at the concerned RTA on payment of Rs. 200, which includes tax and registration fees. These permits will be issued till the auto strike is in vogue," he said.
