Intensive revision of electoral rolls under way in the limits of MCH

  • Enumerators should work on public holidays too

HYDERABAD: The district election authorities have decided to act tough against officials not reporting for the special intensive revision of electoral rolls currently under way in the limits of MCH.

Not only would absconding enumerators and supervisors have to face disciplinary action but suspension orders could also be issued and criminal cases filed against them, warned District Election Officer and MCH Commissioner Sanjay Jaju on Saturday.

Expressing his dissatisfaction over the progress of electoral work, he told the electoral registration officers in no uncertain terms, that any lapse would be viewed seriously and warned of stringent action, as they were on deputation working for the Election Commission.

    Strict working hours

At a review meeting on Saturday, he said all the enumerators and supervisors should be present on the field by 8 a.m. and stay on till the completion of the work. They should be prepared to work even on public holidays, as many employees will be available during these days.

    Interaction

The information furnished by the enumerators on the field should be verified properly to ensure that the work is being done as per EC norms. Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers must interact with every enumerator and supervisor to periodically examine the progress of work and give a detailed report to the DEO.

Electoral photo identity cards and passport size photographs for those not having EPIC should be kept ready for easy identification, he added.
