ICET scores to be online

R. Ravikanth Reddy

Move to reduce scope for allegations on malpractice

  • Individual passwords to students to access their OMR sheet
  • Applications on sale from Feb. 15; exam fee hiked to Rs. 250

HYDERABAD: In an effort to make the valuation system more transparent, Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) Committee has decided to keep the Optical Marks Reader (OMR) sheets online along with the answers key for verification by the students.

"The OMR sheets would be placed on the web after the results are announced so that students' doubts over their scores can be cleared," the ICET Convenor D.N. Reddy told The Hindu . He said every student would be given a password and they can access only their OMR sheets. "This would reduce scope for allegations on malpractice and misplacement of answer sheets."

Prof. Reddy said aspirants could also send their applications online this year. However, they need to send the filled-in hard copy of the application, printed from the web, along with the Demand

Draft of Rs. 250 to the Convenor. Officials would also give an acknowledgement number to be used for future reference.

    Applications

Prof. Reddy said the applications would be on sale from February 15 to March 15 and the last date for receipt of applications is also March 15. With a late fee of Rs. 500, applications can be submitted till March 26. The necessary notification would be issued on February 12. Applications would be made available at all major post offices and e-seva centres across the State. He said the examination fee has been hiked to Rs. 250 from Rs. 200.

Prof. Reddy said students can expect a more standard paper this year in terms of quality of questions to test the skills required for the MBA and MCA courses.
