Dissidence in BJP will be sorted out, says Jaitley

"SAD-BJP combine will form the next Govt."

Arun Jaitley

JALANDHAR: Dissidence over ticket distribution is natural in a national party like BJP and it will be resolved amicably through talks, party general secretary Arun Jaitley said here on Sunday.

He was responding to a reporter's question on dissident activities in BJP especially in Hoshiarpur where some of the district leaders resigned over the allotment of party ticket to a sitting MLA Tikshan Sood. Claiming that there is strong anti-incumbency against both the Congress government in Punjab and the UPA government, Jaitley said the SAD-BJP combine would form the next government in the State.

He said former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee would campaign in Punjab for a day but other senior leaders, including former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Party Chief Rajnath Singh and Sushma Swaraj, would campaign extensively in the State. He revealed that the party's poll manifesto would be released in a couple of days, which would contain a blueprint for over all development of the State.

Asked if any film stars would campaign in favour of SAD-BJP combine, Jaitley said no film star would be roped in but those in the party would campaign for their own party. Asked whether SAD-BJP would be able to fulfil the promise made to provide atta (flour) at the price of Rs four per kg and dal (pulses) at the rate of Rs 20 per kg, he said the combine would work on the promise only after winning the election.

He also condemned the behaviour of Chief Minister's media advisor B I S Chahal who allegedly got a scribe sacked from his job for posing an uncomfortable question to Amarinder Singh in Ludhiana on January 26. - PTI
