Pattanashetti opens library at Tajpur H

BIJAPUR: Minister Appasaheb Pattanashetti has called upon students to cultivate a reading habit. Inaugurating a library sanctioned under the Suvarna Karnataka Gadi Abhivridhi Yojane at Tajpur H. village near here, he said libraries were temples of knowledge and those who utilised them well would be rich in knowledge.

He said all gram panchayats in the district would soon have a well-equipped library. M.B. Patil, Tikota MLAemphasised the need to inculcate a reading habit. He said 12 libraries had been sanctioned for his Assembly segment (Tikota). Chief librarian of District Central Library S.B. Kumbar said 107 libraries were working in the district at present, and 90 more had been sanctioned.

Padnur in Indi taluk is the second village to get a library under the border area development scheme.

Zilla panchayat president Arjun Rathod and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mohsin spoke. Taluk panchayat president Bebi Chavan and zilla panchayat member Somnath Bagalkot were present.
