YMCA boxing is back

NEW DELHI: The YMCA international boxing championship has returned after a gap of two years. With Turkmenistan being the lone country bringing in a full-strength team, it should be a happy hunting ground for the Indian pugilists.

The 10th edition will be held at the YMCA Sports Complex here from Monday. The finals are scheduled for February 2.

So far, 10 countries including Hong Kong, Bhutan, Mauritius, Malaysia, Nepal and Seychelles have confirmed their participation in the championship. Iraq has also sent its entries but is awaiting visas. — Principal Correspondent
