Train cancelled

CHENNAI: Chennai Central-Coimbatore Intercity Express (2679) scheduled to leave on Monday at 2.30 p.m. has been cancelled due to operational reasons, a Southern Railway release said here.

Career guide

The Literary Club at the Everwin Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Kolathur published a career guide, listing career options, and distributed it free to 36,000 households in Perambur, Sembium, Periyar Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, TVK Nagar and Villivakkam North.

Eye camp

The Sri Sai Kishan Foundation will be organising a free medical camp on Tuesday at MKT Mahal, Old No. 110, Strahans Road, Otteri, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Ikebana workshop

and exposition

The ABK-AOTS Dosokai, Tamil Nadu Centre, Chennai, will be organising an `Ikebana Exhibition and Workshop' in association with Sogetsu Study Circle, Chennai, from February 10 to 13 at Lalit Kala Akademi on Greams Road.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Akiko Kodaki along with Yoshiaki Kodaki, Consul General, Consulate General of Japan, Chennai, on February 10 at 11 a.m. It will be open between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on February 10 and 11. NCC cycle expedition

NCC Naval Wing of Jeppiaar Engineering College organised a cycle expedition for `Eradication of Illiteracy and Child Labour' from the college campus to Velankanni via Vellore, Salem and Tiruchirapalli covering more than 800 kilometres. The rally was flagged off on Friday morning and it will conclude on February 5. Twenty-six students and two staff are participating. They will screen documentary films on child labour, perform street plays and distribute pamphlets on the theme along the way.

Free medical

camp held

The Thorapakkam Ladies Club organised a free medical camp as part of the Republic Day celebrations at the C.L. Baid Mehta College of Pharmacy, Thorapakkam, on Friday. Around 300 patients were treated for various ailments and free medicines were distributed.

Energy conservation

The MNM Jain Engineering College organised an awareness programme on oil and gas conservation recently on their premises.

Speakers at the programme urged participants to be involved practically in energy conservation.

A quiz programme was also held.
