Policeman injured in road accident

BANGALORE:
A traffic policeman on duty was seriously injured after he was hit by a car at the junction of Mysore Road and Kengeri Ring Road around 5.30 p.m. on Sunday.
The police said the injured head constable Venkateshaiah (42) attached to the Byatarayanapura traffic police station, was taken to hospital. After the accident, the car driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. He surrendered to the police later. The Byatarayanapura traffic police have registered a case.
Man killed
A man was killed on the spot after a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus hit the bicycle on which he was riding pillion on Suranjandas Road around 3 p.m. on Sunday. The man was identified as Turkappa (25) of Nagavarapalya. Shivappa of Murugeshpalya, who was riding the bicycle, escaped with minor injuries.
