City witnesses phenomenal growth in sales over the years

HYDERABAD: Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri (TBZ), Meena Jewellers (Punjagutta) and Musaddilal Jewellers were adjudged the best showrooms at the Diamond Seasons Awards organised by the De Beers Group's DTC here on Saturday.

Mor Jewellers bagged the best `Gift A Diamond' showroom award while Suraj Bhan Jewellers won the `Best Window Display' award.

Neelkanth Jewellers was presented the `Best Initiative in Diamond Season' award while Kirtilals got the `Best Shopping Experience' award. P. Sathyanarayan and Sons Jewellers won the `Best In-store Display' award.

DTC officials said diamond sales in Hyderabad had witnessed a phenomenal growth over the last few years, particularly with a growth of 36 per cent in 2006, which was the highest in the country for the second consecutive year.

The awards were presented to jewellers voted winners by customers during the Diamond Season from December 20 to 25, 2006. Three salespersons, Deepak of Suraj Bhan, Rakhee of TBZ and Hameed of Suraj Bhan, were also given prizes of Rs. 15,000 each for their efforts.
