Archbishop of Mumbai Oswald Gracia and Archbishop Raphael Cheenath of Cuttack/Bhubaneswar diocese along with many bishops from all over the country were present to bless the new Bishop.
Royal grandeur
It was a ceremony of royal grandeur as if a king was being coroneted. The rituals started with prayers to almighty. The appointment order of the new Bishop, which has received the approval of the Vatican, was read out. And Bishop Nayak accepted the offer. It was followed by religious rituals of ordination. The new Bishop took his oath. Archbishop Lopez consecrated his head with holy oil. The archbishop put the new mitre on the head of Bishop Nayak as if coronating him.
