Bangalore: Thomas Vijayan's aim is to break the Guinness World Record for the "Longest singing marathon by an individual". He plans to sing for 75 hours from February 5 to 8. Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Mr. Vijayan said he had been practising to sing for long hours for the past two years. He said his marathon singing session would be held with the approval of the Guinness authorities. "Scot N. Christie, a judge and representative of the Guinness authorities from London, will be present on the occasion," he said. The current record for the "Longest singing marathon by an individual" is held by Antonio Di Modugno from Italy, who sang for 58 hours and 35 minutes at Bari from March 16-19, 2006. He had selected 1,000 songs in different languages for the singing marathon, he said. Mr. Vijayan said he would be permitted to take a 15-minute break every four hours. He will begin performing at 2 p.m. on February 5 at India Campus Crusade Auditorium on Hennur Main Road, Lingarajapuram.
