PUDUCHERRY: Around 160 cases related to non-payment of bank loans were settled through negotiation at a two day special lok adalat held on January 24 and 25, here. These cases were pending with the 12 local branches of Indian Bank, a release from Legal Services Authority said. The release said a total of 617 cases were brought before the Benches of the Lok Adalat. In 232 cases, borrowers appeared and 159 cases involving a liability of Rs 47.14 lakh were settled for Rs 29.29 lakh through negotiation, including spot recovery of Rs 9.09 lakh, the release added.
