Letters to the Editor
A musician who never compromised with pop or jazzy tunes for classical notes in music compositions, O.P. Nayyar's work in films such as Naya Daur, Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye, and Aar Paar is unforgettable. The great Asha Bhonsle owes most of her success to Nayyar.
Nayyar did not have any formal education in music. He could, however, win hearts through his music. His tunes in films such as Howrah Bridge, Kashmir Ki Kali, and Phir Wohi Dil Laaya Hoon, helped make them some of the most musically successful movies of all time.
