Action taken against temple staff

GUNTUR: Pedakakani Malleswaraswamy temple executive officer Veera Reddy has been relieved of his post, while Sthanacharya, mukhya archaka, and other staff members have been suspended for their alleged dereliction of duties.

Endowments Commissioner P. Sundara Kumar on Tuesday morning made a surprise visit to the temple at Pedakakani on the city outskirts and found the maintenance of temple premises very bad.

He immediately relieved Mr. Reddy, while served suspension orders on Sthanacharya Ch.Koteswara Rao, mukhya acharya K.V.S. Avadhani and acharya K. Badrinath, while recommended cut in increment for a sweeper and an attendant.

Six others related to temple administration and maintenance were served charge memos for not performing duties to the satisfaction of the authorities.

Endowments Deputy Commissioner N. Vijay Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Surya Kumar accompanied the Commissioner, while Mr. Surya Kumar was given temporary charge of the temple administration.
