UNIQUE FESTIVAL: Women exchanging bread at `Rottela Panduga' in Nellore on Tuesday.
NELLORE: Thousands of devotees, whose wishes have been granted, offered different kind of `rotis' to the God as well as to those making similar wishes at a unique `Rottela Panduga' (festival of breads) at Nellore tank close to Bara Shaheed Dargah. Right from the morning, devotees belonging to different faiths offered prayers at the dargah, on the first day of three-day festival. Later they took a holy dip in the tank before heading to exchange `rotis'. Meanwhile, the police have deployed Circle Inspectors, Sub Inspectors, head constables and constables, apart from women constables for the festival. Besides, the department divided the area near the dargah into seven sectors to facilitate security arrangements. The Police Parade Ground has been earmarked for parking vehicles coming from different parts of the country. The Muncipal Corporation of Nellore engaged sanitary workers in shifts round-the-clock to maintain hygiene in and around the dargah.
