B. Muralidhar Reddy

COLOMBO: The Sri Lanka Government, due to the prevailing security situation, has reportedly blocked communication facilities to Jaffna peninsula. As a result, Internet is down and most of the phones are not functioning.

N. Vithyatharan, Editor of Uthayan told The Hinduthat for the last three days only one out of the 12 telephone lines in the office of the newspaper is functional. "We believe it is a decision taken by the military", he maintained.
