Southee stars in Kiwi colts' victory

New Delhi: A six-wicket haul by seamer Timothy Southee helped New Zealand beat India by 73 runs in the second under-19 youth cricket `Test' and level the series at Dunedin here on Tuesday.

Needing 306 for victory, India was dismissed for 232 in the second innings as Southee, opening the bowling for the host, returned match-winning figures of six for 56.

The scores: New Zealand 100 & 334 (M. Tairoa 102, C. Anderson 88) bt India 129 & 232 (A. Rane 55, T. Srivastava 47, R. Jadeja 34, T. Southee six for 56). — PTI
