St. Joseph's triumphs
St. Joseph's College (Trichy) lifted the KSS memorial trophy defeating host Gandhigram Rural University 71-55 in the final match of the semifinals round robin league in the State-level inter-collegiate basketball tournament at GRU ground on Monday night. St. Joseph's emerged winner with an all-win record and Sethu Institute of Technology, which beat Annamalai University 70-58 for its second win in another match, finished runner-up. The results: St. Joseph's 71 (R. Nataraj 24, B. Sreedhararajan 10) bt GRU 55 (Jeyachandran 22, Jeganath Kaushik 10); S.I.T. 70 (A. Dominic Joe 28, P. Ramesh wins title
Ramesh of Erode won the men's singles title defeating Kalyanaraman of Madurai 11-7, 11-8, 11-7 in the final of the two-day State-level table tennis tournament organised by Dindigul District Table Tennis Association, in association with Rotary Club of Dindigul Queen City and Doctors T.T.
