Four die in collision

VELLORE: Four persons travelling by a van belonging to a private TV channel were killed when a tanker lorry collided with it on the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway on Tuesday morning.

The police said the tanker lorry was going in the wrong direction. The van was returning from Bangalore to Chennai. On the way, the driver stopped at Pallikonda and picked up some passengers. Paramasivam (van driver) died on the spot, Ramachandran (30) and Karunakaran (28), both of Pallikonda, and Vinayagam of Porur died in hospital.
