DEHRA DUN: The newly appointed Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary (organisation), Ramlal, feels that there is a strong undercurrent in favour of his party and it is bound to return to power in next month's Uttarakhand Assembly elections. Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters here on Tuesday, Mr. Ramlal said the people were fed up with Congress "misrule" and waiting to effect a change. He accused the UPA Government at the Centre of diluting national security and damaging the very fabric of the nation by adopting an appeasement policy to minorities. Replying to a query, he said the BJP was a nationalist force and it was more than proved during the NDA regime that it meant to mete out justice to all sections of society.
Mr. Ramlal's presence to oversee the Uttarakhand elections hints that the RSS is going to play a major role in the State unit of the BJP -- a fact that has not been appreciated by many in the party who do not have an RSS background.
