Amith triumphs

Mysore: T. Amith of Gnana Ganga Vidya Peeta, Mysore and Adhish Kadirur of J.S.S. Public School, Mysore secured 8.5 points each from ten rounds but the former's better progressive score of 52 to the latter's 48.5 saw him clinch the title in the under-15 Republic Day Open Chess tourney for boys and girls, conducted by Mysore Chess Club (R) at the Basudeva Somani FGC here recently. In the lightning chess event, H.A. Amogha won the title.

Final placings: 1. T. Amith (8.5 pts-52); 2. Adhish Kadirur (8.5 pts-48.5); 3. D.N. Shreyas Ram (8.5-47); 4. M.R. Dheeksha (7.5 pts-47); 5. M. Tulsi (7.5 pts-42).

Lightning Chess: Final Placings: 1. H.A. Amogha; 2. D.N. Shreyas Ram; 3.M.R. Deeksha.
