JALPARI: Colours of silence

A weeklong exhibition of paintings by Pratiksha Apurv, niece and disciple of enlightened master Osho, opens at the All-India Fine Arts and Crafts Society gallery here this Thursday.

Titled "Spiritual Odyssey", the exhibition will showcase 44 masterpieces of Pratiksha, who has carved a niche for herself in different artistic endeavours. Besides being an artist, Pratiksha is also a successful fashion designer.

To create a sense of mystery in her works, the artist uses different observation of tone and colour.

Even the abstract has a figure and figurative strokes.

Pratiksha has tried to define the journey of human existence and its ultimate goal through her paintings. "Each of my painting is an effort to express the inexpressible," says the artist, who has highlighted meditation and deep existence of silence. Filmmaker-cum-columnist Yatish Yadav says that Pratiksha uses vibrant colours and introspective frames from her moments of inner joy and bliss and are her way of sharing those precious moments with fellow beings.
