Correction
In the news item "Eye care centre inaugurated" (page 5, Chennai, January 30, 2007), the second paragraph should read as: Declaring open the centre, the Labour Minister, T. M. Anbarasan, said it was the DMK Government, which had launched blindness control programme in the State.
"The DMK party, which launched this health-care programme while in power, had set up an eye-bank in its headquarters at Chennai. Every year on the eve of the birthday celebrations of our leaders, party cadres used to record their willingness to donate eyes after death." The sentence, as published on January 30, gave an impression that the DMK Government had set up the eye bank at the party headquarters.
