Dominic Savio School golden jubilee

CHENNAI: February 11 will be a special day for alumni, students and teachers of Dominic Savio Matriculation School when they all get together to celebrate their school's golden jubilee.

A year-long celebration has been planned in a phased manner, beginning with the get together. Food stalls and game stalls will be put up in a shopping area spanning 20,000 square feet.

Drawing and painting competitions, a fashion show for children have also been lined up.

Post office

upgraded

Okkiyam Thoraipakkam post office has been upgraded as a departmental sub-office that will function from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Earlier, the branch worked only three hours a day.

Facilities offered by the post office include speed post, savings account facility and payment of telephone bills. Chennai Postmaster General T. Panneerselvam will open the sub-office on

February 1.

Talk on energy security

M.R. Srinivasan, former chairman of Atomic Energy Commission, will speak on energy security on February 1 at 6.15 p.m. at Bharathiar Illam, 83, T.P. Koil Street, Triplicane.

An interactive session would also be held.

Draw of lots

for houses

Applicants who have paid the advance for the Tamil Nadu Housing Board's multi-storeyed apartments at Mogappair are invited to participate in the draw of lots to be held at Thanthai Periyar Wedding Hall at Anna Nagar West on January 31 at 11 a.m. Applicants whose names do not come up in the draw will be refunded their deposit the same day.
