Lions Club's gesture

Special CorrespondentT.N.K

The City Corporation's rehabilitation home for beggars has received a helping hand from the Lions Club International. At a function held here on Tuesday, the regional coral of the non-governmental organisation donated a wet grinder, plates, emergency lights and torch lights to the home.

The inmates at the rehabilitation centre were subjected to a medical examination and provided with free medicines. A free eye camp for the public was also held. Minister for Food and Civil Supplies C. Divakaran inaugurated the camp. He said the Government would extend all help to the Corporation to rehabilitate beggars. Lions Club regional chairman T. Bijukumar presided.
