banking hours

Thiruvananthapuram: The Chenthitta branch of State Bank of Travancore will function from 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on Saturdays. The revised timing will come into effect on February 1, a release said. — Staff Reporter

Designated protection officers

Thiruvananthapuram: The Government has designated District Probation Officers (Grade I) as protection officers under the law to check domestic harassment. The revenue district concerned will be their jurisdiction. The Social Welfare Department will organise a State-level workshop here on February 13 to provide the necessary training to the protection officers and other officers who will have to involve in the implementation of the law. — Special Correspondent

New dates for

exams announced

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The examinations for students of standard 12 at Arya Central School that were scheduled for January 27 and 30 will now be held at 1 p.m. on February 1 and at 9 a.m. on February 2, the school principal has said. The examinations scheduled for January 31 will be held as per the schedule. There is no change in the timetable of examinations for students of standard 10. Regular classes for students of all other classes will commence on February 2. — Staff Reporter

Yoga classes

Thiruvananthapuram: The next batch of yoga classes conducted by the Holistic Medicine and Stress Research Unit of the Medical College Hospital will begin at 4 p.m. on February 1. Classes on yoga and meditation will be supervised by doctors. — Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rallies and meetings were organised by the DYFI in the district on Tuesday against communalism, terrorism and imperialism.
