THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister for Cooperation G. Sudhakaran on Wednesday wrote to Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, urging him to order a probe into the allegation made by Principal Secretary E.K. Bharat Bhushan that the Minister had withheld the report of a vigilance inquiry against members of the Travancore Devaswom Board. The Minister also wrote to Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan and Chief Secretary Lizzie Jacob seeking disciplinary action against the official. Mr. Sudhakaran said that Mr. Bhushan had breached the code of conduct by raising allegations against him through newspapers. He said the files should be examined to see if he had withheld the files on the vigilance inquiry. Mr. Bhushan had alleged that the Minister was portraying officials, including him, as corrupt without any basis. The Principal Secretary reportedly said that though he had sought the vigilance report from the Minister for taking further action, the Minister had neither replied nor made the report available. Mr. Bhushan, who is returning to Central service, gave interviews to newspapers to clarify his position.
