Campaign facilitated on-the-spot solution to various problems relating to revenue records, agriculture and water and power supply

JAIPUR: The month-long "Gram Sampark Abhiyan" in Rajasthan that ended on Wednesday facilitated on-the-spot solution to various problems relating to revenue records, agriculture and water and power supply in the rural areas. The campaign reportedly benefited thousands of villagers.

State Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Kalulal Gujjar said here that 1.73-lakh mutation proceedings were completed, 94,103 passbooks distributed, 15,939 farmers given khatedari rights and 15,438 cases of partition were decided in camps held at village panchayats during the drive.

Mr. Gujjar said a special feature of the month-long drive was social audit of development works launched during the last three years. The social audit found regular supply of midday meals in 96 per cent of schools across the State and detected low expenditure on 3 per cent of the 3.36-lakh public assets.

Similarly, the Gram Sabhas received objections in connection with 10 per cent of the 3,521 water harvesting projects during the campaign.

Mr. Gujjar said a total of 8,410 camps were organised all over the State till January 28. While 6,697 public assets lying in disuse were identified, 11,805 assets were named for renovation. The Minister said the approval for repair of 23 per cent of the assets had already been issued.

A review of the Chief Minister's Shiksha Sambal Mahabhiyan revealed that admissions to 27 per cent of schools had registered an increase, while the dropout rate had declined in 23 per cent schools. Besides, loans were disbursed to 12,144 people under the Swrana Jayanthi Swarozgar Yojana and land for residential purpose was allotted to 18,950 families.
