BANGALORE: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Wednesday advised the disabled people not to lose heart as the Government would provide all support to them to lead a normal life. Addressing a meeting of physically challenged people called by the Department of Women and Child Welfare, Mr. Kumaraswamy said nearly 25 lakh people with several disabilities in the State. In the State budget, the Government would set aside more funds for providing education scholarships for them. A decision had already been taken to increase monthly pension to Rs. 500. The Karnataka Road Transport Corporation authorities would be directed to issue bus passes to all physically challenged people, he said. Mr. Kumaraswamy said it was difficult for the Government to provide jobs to all disabled persons. They could obtain facilities and funds being provided by various departments under different schemes, he said. Representatives of organisations and disabled people urged the Government to issue them passes to enter the Vidhana Soudha as the authorities did not allow them.
