Man held on charge of cheating

Thiruvananthapuram:
The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) on Wednesday arrested a 58-year-old man who was wanted in connection with a cheating case.
The accused was identified as Rajan George, owner of an industrial unit and technical institute in Kottayam. The case against Rajan was that the he had defrauded the Kerala Finance Corporation (KFC), a State Government concern, of more than Rs.18.75 lakh.
According to a VACB press release, the accused took the amount as loan from the KFC for setting up the unit.
He then allegedly caused a fire at the unit to show loss to avoid repaying the loan.
The VACB said Rajan was accused in 12 other cheating cases in Kottayam.
A team led by Mahipal Yadav, SP, Special Investigation Unit, VACB, arrested him.
