BANGALORE: The Turuvekere Police in Tumkur district on Tuesday arrested five teenaged boys, who were among the 46 boys who had escaped from an observation home in Banglaore, when they along with four other boys were looting a shop. The police informed their counterparts in Bangalore about the arrest and are bringing the boys to the city. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Soumendu Mukherjee, the boys would be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board on Thursday. Of the 46 boys who had escaped, 11 were aged 17, 18 were aged 16 and the rest were aged between 11 and 14, he said. The police have already caught eight boys and the board sent them back to the observation home. Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Gopal B. Hosur said remaining 33 boys would be apprehended soon. Tumkur Staff Correspondent writes: According to police, the nine boys were spotted when they were burgled a TV repair shop. As the police approached them, four escaped from the scene. The police said the same group had reportedly looted a shop in KGF, Kolar, before coming to Turuvekere.
