Amara Raja to produce two-wheeler batteries

CHENNAI: Amara Raja Batteries has announced plans to manufacture two-wheeler batteries and small VRLA batteries for UPS applications. The company proposed to invest Rs. 113.40 crore spread over three years. Phase I of the two-wheeler battery capacity will be created at its existing facility near Tirupati and on completion the capacity will be 5.74 million units annually.
