Sugar quota released

NEW DELHI : The Centre has released a quota of 13 lakh tonnes of non-levy sugar for February. With the availability of 1.74 lakh tonnes of levy sugar for sale through the Public Distribution System, the total sugar released for the month is 14.74 lakh tonnes. The non-levy sugar quota has to be sold within the month. Any unsold quantity would be converted into levy, an official press release said.
